A well earned day off the bike and a wonderful campsite , lots of shade under big trees

Barbs was well pleased to have a good day off to relax . We had a decent thunder storm on dusk which helped proof that our campsite with a great tarp / fly works brilliantly.
Today we looked at the interesting canal bridge that crosses the Loire river constructed in 1890 – 1896 . Basically it’s a river crossing another river ! Was the longest navigable aqueduct till 2003 ! It connects to the Seine . 662 metres long .

A relaxing day off the bike and a great lunch up in town in the centre near this incredible old church

Tomorrow we begin our meander down the Loire . Lots of cycle tourists now evident as this is a popular route with lots to see and should be an enjoyable ride . Roll on to the 1000 km’s milestone . Barb will be looking for a special rewards .. an ice cream perhaps to celebrate .
