On to Bordeaux and an Air BnB rest

We were both looking forward to a real rest and a real bed after 28 days under canvas so the ride into Bordeaux was highly anticipated .

The last 2 days were mostly thru very flat forestry , the trail obviously an old rail trail , but with a smooth black bitumen top that made the km’s fast . A tailwind also made it a joyous ride .

Our air BnB was everything we wanted . Comfortable with all the mod cons we might need or missed . A nice coffee machine and good shops very close-by. Celebrated our arrival to our treat with a meal out to an Italian Pizzeria only 30 metres from our front door.

Maybe some accumulated fatigue set in but the next day we blobbed out and barely moved except for essential supplies . With a real washing machine Barbs was able to wash everything properly . Even had a little nap or 2 . I indulged in watching the Tour de France all arvo on a big screen , while simultaneously streaming an Aussy ( SBS ) commentary. A VPN is very handy here .

Day 2 we did an interested walk of the city using an app based audio guide which directed the walk and gave a fascinating historical commentary. Didn’t know that Bordeaux was actually an English city for quite sometime 12 th to 15 th century !

I’ve been sampling the crème brûlée’s every time we eat out and they always seem perfectly excellent .
