After our wonderful stopover at John and Nancys place it was a little sad to have to say our farewells as we began our last push back up thru France-to St Malo and a ferry back to the UK . ( 7 or 800 km )
John very thoughtful man that he is , loaded our heavy panniers and BOB bag into his car and met us about 2 km into the ride to avoid a fairly steep hill at the beginning of our ride . Was a god send !
The ride to Narac was testy and at times frustrating as some recent storm damage had bought down trees making the route impassable. We needed to make some significant backtracks which added to the days effort .

The temperatures soared and we were very thankful to finally descend to Narac , a really interesting very old town . Both very hot and bothered we enjoyed a lovely cold drink at the first bar we found . As we had just crossed the 2000 km point we also made the unilateral decision to stop in Nérac at a very nice comfortable hotel .

Narac had a night market with lots of interesting food options which we tried .

This amazing feat of engineering takes a canal across a 580 metre bridge . Was built in the 1820’s to about 1840 and still-looks great .
We rode to Agen next , to catch a train back to Bordeaux to avoid cycling part of the route we had done last week . Was a good day with a few hills before descending to the canal again and a flat last 20 km into the city of Agen .

The train ride back to Bordeaux was a little nerve racking due to all the gear we needed to load into the train and of course BOB .
Back on the lovely rail trail again from last week we pushed on into the late afternoon to our campsite near Creon .
An even bigger day awaits
