Our last 2 days riding took us back up to Tours on the Loire where we elected to catch a train back to Angers as we don’t need to cycle this section twice .

We had about 3 hours to kill till our late train which was not too difficult to sort out . A nice bottle of chilled Prosecco to celebrate the 2500 km point in the ride and a little reward for the hard hills of the last 5 day section . We shared !
I minded the bikes will Barb did a little explore of Tours to check out the ancient cathedral of Tours constructed in the 13th century

The French rightly pride themselves on their wonderful traditions in fine food and this very tasty lunch enjoyed 2 days back deserves comment . Where else will you find a restaurant that will give you one French fry with the meal ?? The steak and sauce cooked to perfection , but I could have handled one more chip , only one .

I have grown a little overwhelmed by all the very old churches and old villages , and now the camera stays in the bag as we freewheel by these interesting old buildings . Now it’s a food interest !
Contemplating now our final week of cycling , up from Angers to St Malo via le Lion Angers , chateau Gontier, Laval , Mountflours, Mayanne, Mont Saint Michel and a ferry back to the UK TO Portsmouth.
Only another 300 km to go now.
