Had a lazy start to the day as our ferry ride to Helensville with Kaipara Cruises was in the early arvo. Had an annoying late night due to a bunch of fat tattooed motor cyclists who decided to party loadly in the hall next to the cluster of tents. They were on a personal beerfest and didn’t care to stop till about midnight .

I confronted one of the bikies the following morning to politely tell him their behaviour was disrespectful etc etc etc . He didn’t take it well and sometime later he made an unnecessary smart comment , I retorted telling him he was something that sound like banker . Well then he wanted to fight me , but common sense prevailed or perhaps his already long police record prevented him from taking that next step .

The ferry transported about 12 cyclists and kit for the 3 hour trip up the Kaipara Harbour . A pleasant voyage .

After disembarking I rode off to Daryl & Sharon’s home to enjoy an extended family dinner , then to sister Jill’s place for the night .

My nephew Daryl very kindly picked me up at 6:30 am , drove to Westgate where we cycled together into the city along the NW motorway cycleway . It was a pleasure to join him and we made a nice fast pace along the cycleway . Photo outside the Britomart rail terminal where he delivered me .

The train out to Papakura meant I avoided a part of the crazy Auckland traffic , but I still had a nice ride thru to Tuakau then across the Waikato river and on to Port Waikato Campsite .
