Just on dawn a rain band moved over and gave the tent a good old clean . Was never going to be an early start as I had to visit the office to get my credit card back and opening hours are 9 am . With the rain cleared up I hit the road and enjoyed the 60 + km ride that goes up and down like a whore’s drawers . It was mostly unsealed but in fairly good order and wasn’t challenging . The route goes thru magnificent limestone country , very picturesque

Ulrik and Leslie and I cycled together off and one , with the E bike giving and unfair advantage when the steeper climbs slowed their pace .

I made a phone call from about 6 km from the end to connect with Ian the owner of Raglan Cruises , who arrived to ferry us over to the Raglan side . $20 per person

Arrived with plenty of time to set up camp , wash clothes and generally chill out . Leslie made us a pretty decent coffee that was very well received .

Up early the next morning and after a coffee at Raglan I headed off towards Kawhia . A short ride of only a couple of hours , so almost a rest day , a chance to catch up on some bike maintenance.

Was a chilly morning so I barely broke a sweat and rolled into Kawhia after a couple of hours . Camp looks just fine
