Celebrated my birthday in style . Officially a rest day we elected to take a group tour day trip to see this Lagoon which didn’t entail too much walking , but gave us some more altitude acclimation.

The lake is located on the slopes of the Paccharaju Mountains, not so far from Huaraz. Awful switchback roads naturally .

We had a 20 min walk up the side of the Lagoon to see another higher feeder lake the “ frozen lake “

Was a great day which ended in a celebratory dinner at a nearby restaurant, my first descent meal of meat since leaving nz

Was a long birthday this year as it began here on 13 th on account of the fact that it was the 14 th in nz . The meat dinner was just perfect .
