Visitors to Andalucia will often make a mandatory visit to go to Granada to see the amazing Alhambra world heritage site. A series of palaces on top of the prominent hill overlooking Granada. It was started by a Muslim dynasty ” The Nazari – in about 1232. The Muslims held Alhambra till 1492 when finally they succumbed to the Catholic Monarchs and surrendered the city. The Christians also built castles and churches in Alhambra – but nothing quite as beautiful as the old Muslim palaces with incredible decorations – lovely water features and baths and all manner of refined dwellings.
