Superlatives like fantastic, spectacular, incredible , can barely begin to describe today’s ride through lovely Loch bound country. I believe many in this group will rate this as a top days bike ride from anywhere in the world. Much of the route is single track and with only a smattering of tourist traffic to share the scenic wonderland with. We had a stop after about 20 Kms for coffee and scones at a small house called Crask. The lunch stop was all the way nearly to the sea at the coastal settlement of Tongue
the following photo sequence gives a hint at the grandeur of this amazing day on a bike.
The good bad and the ugly – not necessarily in the order shown!
A very gentle incline all the way up to the Crask Inn – nice hot scones baked in anticipation of our group stopping , courtesy of John.
The route around the shore line of Loch Loyal and Loch Craggie
Pic of the sea very close to Tongue our lunch stop
The pristine looking coastline at Bettyhill our stop for tonight.
Colin found a new friend – he enjoyed the play as much if not more than the two Border Collies.
Photo study of David Keeping – he has had a great ride – sort of spiritual pilgrimage back to great health and Lejog was a promise he made to himself about 2 years ago.
He thinks he may redo the trip but next time with full panniers. ——- and maid Marion?
Elias the Adventurer
He takes his time and takes 1000’s of pictures to ensure he does not forget each trip. If we had not evolved to digital and were still in film negatives – he would be a very poor man by now.
Have been enjoying your blog. Photos are wonderful. I work with Bill and it is always fun to see him, and two of our clients, enjoying this great ride.
Thank you Beverly, been nice to know we have had a few folk following the adventure. Bill is an amazingly fit guy – never seems to struggle
