After a balmy 35 degrees c yesterday at Geraldine we had a cold front that rapidly moved over the South Island – dropping the temperature to a mere 12 degrees c by the afternoon. A short drive up past Lake Tekapo on to Lake Pukaki – the lake at the foot of Mt. Cook.

We have stopped here a at free camp spot at the Lake .

Dawn was crisp with about 6 degrees c outside – started the diesel heater and before too long we were enjoying 20 c inside . had early guests to sing happy birthday to Barb at about 8am😊
