Been riding over the last 3 days with Carl and Rose 🌹B in and around Kerikeri and the cycle trail here in Northland .
Overall a great trail with only one ( major ) negative . The total trail has numerous restricted squeeze points that really are a bit of a nuisance. This breaks up the rhythm of the trail and makes it a total ” no go ” for fully laden cycle tourists as the embuggerance involved would be truely too painful . Understand that the purpose is to stop unauthorised users ( Low life people ) from spoiling it with motorbikes , cars etc. Barb and TRISHIA joined us on the last ride ( okaihau to Opua ) – hot day but lots of fun and great food at Kawakawa and Opua . Young Jonny Martin provided the transport .
Still a pretty ride with some nice river scenery down towards Horeke and also near Opua. Next time need to make it a real adventure with a stopover at the Horeke pub

… and I managed a 500 metre walk today …. no crutches. Tomorrow 1 km.
Envy you with the bike trails free of mud and sunny weather presumably without the heat of OZ. John
