Ciao from Roma

Said farewell to Ireland and arrived in the real summer sun of Rome to meet up with my parents. Arrived at the main train station eventually, wondering what special event was on as there were people everywhere dressed in group colors waving banners. Seems that 100,000 trade union workers had descended on Rome from all parts of Italy on an anti austerity protest. I am told that there is a strike or protest every week these days. Anyway today for the first time I tried a hop on hop off tour and it was the only way to catch the sights while avoiding the crowds and the heat. It is a bit like ticking off a list of the must see sights so here are some of my more interesting pics.
